How I Use Feng Shui to Stage a Home
Feng Shui is all about energy and how it moves through your home. You want your home to feel like the place people want to be and hang out.
First you want to de clutter, remove things you're not using, you have to pack up at some point so; start before the sign goes in the yard.
Make sure all the personal things are packed, pictures, awards all those wonderful things we put on our refrigerators. That's all clutter. Remove all the furniture that you can, it makes the rooms appear bigger. Energy is free to move.
If you have hobby or collection specific items, pack those away. By removing the clutter, you depersonalize the home and that's good for a quick sale.
Clutter is one of the worst enemies of selling a home, sometimes clutter is remedied by putting things away, making sure each room has an intended purpose meaning the dining room is a dining room with table and chairs and not the child's play room.
In Feng Shui the windows are the eyes of the home, make sure they're clean and in good working order.
Clean the home; bake cookies to make the home inviting. Use fresh flowers in the entryway or the kitchen.
Pay attention to your front walkway, if it's straight to the front door, soften the approach with potted plants or flowers along the walkway. Place some flowerpots on the front porch and make sure there's no clutter at the front door or on the front porch.
If you have room place a small and simple fountain at the front door and if you can arrange it so water appears to be flowing to the front door even better. Let the sound of water welcome your buyers and invite them in to fall in love with your house.
